James Braha is the author of the first easily understandable book on Hindu/Vedic astrology (Jyotish): Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern Western Astrologer (written in 1986, Revised and Expanded 2020, with 200 extra pages). Robert Hand, the world’s greatest astrological scholar, called it a masterpiece.
After studying Western astrology for five years, James traveled to Delhi and Bombay in 1982 and 1984 to study privately with world famous astrologer/author R. Santhanam and P.M. Padia. Mr. Santhanam was the translator of eight classical Jyotish texts, including Horasara, Saravali, and Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra. He was also a practicing astrologer in Delhi. P.M. Padia was a knowledgable, well-known astrologer in Mumbai, with decades of experience.
James has analyzed more than 10,000 horoscopes over 40 years of practice. He is famous for training astrologers worldwide to use Vedic astrology for its amazing predictive ability, as well as Western astrology for its profound psychological and spiritual advantages. James is one of the most respected astrologers in America, and is the recipient of the Jyotish Kovida and Jyotisha Choodamani awards.
